Credit Recovery (IS)

If you are over 16 and behind in credits toward graduation, you do not need to have failed the same course you are taking for credit recovery. You should work with your school counselor to choose the courses you need to earn credits toward graduation. 

If you are under 16, you need to take the same high school course you previously failed to qualify for credit recovery. As long as the course is to earn the same credit, you do not need to have taken the failed course at NSO to take it for credit recovery with us. 

Yes! If you took a course at NSO and did not earn credit for it (for example, you earned an incomplete), you can take the course at NSO again during a different term for credit recovery. When you re-enroll in the course, any of the work you had completed in your NSO course previously can usually be transferred so you can start where you left off.  

If you are behind in credits and over 16, you can take courses for credit recovery at NSO. If you under 16, you can take the same credit you previously failed for credit recovery at NSO.

No, you are only eligible to take courses for credit recovery for high school courses taken during 9th - 12th grade. 

Yes! You can take a course for credit recovery at NSO in addition to your full course schedule at NSO during the school year. We limit students to one credit recovery course at a time during the school year. 

During the school year you take one course for credit recover at a time. During the summer you can take two credit recovery courses at a time.

We will try our best to apply any work you have completed in the course you did not pass previously to your NSO credit recover course. 

If you took the course through NSO previously, in most cases we can transfer the work you completed so you can start where you left off.

If you took the course at a different school, you can provide us with documentation of the work you completed and we will do our best to apply the work to your current course.
