Course Description
Teaching is built into everything we do. This course provides high school students with an introduction to the wide world of teaching. Students will gain skills and knowledge that will help them discover more about teaching and whether it might be something they would like to pursue as a career in life. More than just an informational course, many of the activities will have you teaching someone a particular skill, or designing a lesson or unit. You’ll get actual practice applying what you are learning. If you take this course and complete it, you will understand more about teaching and be a better teacher.
The course also covers various aspects of teaching, including educational theories on learning and instruction, classroom management, lesson planning, and fostering an inclusive, culturally responsive learning environment that embraces diversity.
