Course Description

English 3 is an 11th grade level course exploring Pre-Colonial writings, Native American myth, and Colonial writings through significant literary periods including the Age of Reason, Romanticism, and some Modernism and Postmodernism. The history of American Education, satire, and suspense are also covered within an American literature lens. Students will be able to interact with the literature through various writings and critical thinking including in-depth research. The second semester covers media literacy, American poetry, and creative writing.
