Who We Serve
Online Learning for All Students
NSO courses are available to every high school student in Minnesota. It is important to us that every student has the opportunity for high quality online learning no matter where they live in Minnesota, why they are looking for an online course, and what their learning needs are.
What To know about your online learning options:
-
To take supplemental or credit recovery courses at NSO, students need to be enrolled in a school in Minnesota.
-
Because of school choice, public school students can choose to take up to half their day at the online provider of their choice.
-
Students who want to take a supplemental course to replace a course during their school day need to request their NSO course within the first 15 days of each school term. Schools can waive this limitation if they choose.
-
Students can take online courses at NSO for over half their day (or even full-time) with permission from their school while remaining enrolled in their local school.
-
Students enrolled in a public school and replacing a course within their school day or for credit recovery can take courses at NSO at no cost to their family.
-
Students at a private school, outside of Minnesota, or taking a course above their full schedule can pay tuition for courses.
